Meet with a Julie Tobias, a Registered Dietician, to discuss diet and eating habits. Julie earned her Bachelor Degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition, and Masters Degree in Health Education and Promotion from the University of Missouri Columbia. She has been a practicing Registered Dietician for the past 12 years and specializes in weight management. For this appointment, Julie will design a plan with you to meet your individual nutrition and health-related goals. With her, you will learn to better manage a health condition, reach your healthy weight, or simply eat more nutritious foods to prevent disease and protect your health.What you can expect from a fitness consultation:
Meet with Alison Hays, a Certified Health Fitness Specialist, to receive a general health and fitness screening. Alison graduated from Truman State University with an Exercise Science degree and currently is in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program here at the University of Missouri. Alison will work with you to make an individualized exercise prescription based on your current fitness level, fitness goals, and habits. For this appointment, Alison will take measurements such as your BMI (height and weight), % body fat, waist circumference, blood pressure and heart rate. Please also wear loose, comfy clothing as you will be asked to perform push-ups, squats, crunches, and heel raises. Together you and Alison will design a plan to increase fitness for lasting lifestyle changes. In this session you will learn how to get a program started or how to simply add activity into your daily routine.What you can expect from a wellness coaching consultation:
A wellness coach will assist you in managing stress, sleep, time, diet, fitness and other wellness issues that are present in your life. You will complete a few short assessments to help determine the sources of stress and unhappiness. Together you will discover the root of the problem and make goals on improving your lifestyle.What we expect from you:

If you “No Show” or cancel several appointments, the Wellness Resource Center reserves the right to discontinue services for the remainder of the semester.Directions to our office:
We are located at the Wellness Resource Center in 200 Bingham Commons. Take the pedestrian walkway across College Ave and enter Schurz Hall to your right, go past the front desk and upstairs, you will see signs for the WRC. During the summer, the residence hall doors may be locked; if so, please call 882-4634 or 884-9441 when you arrive.Cost:
Nutrition and fitness consultations for students are $15 for initial, $10 for follow-up visits; consultations for faculty and staff are $25 for initial, $15 for follow-up visits.
