Partners in Prevention is Missouri's higher education substance abuse
consortium. Through evaluation, funding, training and technical assistance,
and coalition building, we help our members create positive change on
their college campuses.
PIP’s mission is to create a campus, city, and state environment
that supports responsible decision making in regards to alcohol by the
college students who attend the public higher education institutions
in the state of Missouri. PIP’s focus is on decreasing at-risk
drinking by students on Missouri’s college and university campuses.
PIP was created in 2000 and since its founding, PIP has provided training
and networking to its members through monthly meetings, assisted in developing
a campus-community coalition on each member campus, annual evaluation
of alcohol and drug use behaviors and related consequences, and held
five drive-in workshops and four annual conferences.
Partners in Prevention is funded by the Missouri Division of Alcohol
and Drug Abuse with additional funding from the Missouri Department of
Transportation’s Highway Safety Division and the Greater Kansas
City Community Foundation’s Port Authority Problem Gaming Fund.
This website is designed to provide updated information
about substance use and abuse among Missouri’s higher education
students and tools to create change on college campuses.
