This site hopes to help provide and foster an environment that supports responsible decision-making in colleges across Missouri.
Goals for the gambling prevention program:
- Provide education on problem gambling as an increasing public health concern; communicate the signs and symptoms of problem gambling; and provide information about campus and community resources.
- Provide presentations to ‘at risk’ groups on campus (residential halls, Greek houses etc.) to address effective strategies for identifying and preventing unhealthy gambling habits.
- Help educate student support professionals among the public institutions of Missouri, through drive in workshops that address effective strategies for identifying, preventing and treating problem gambling among college students.
- Examine policies on gambling issues related to sponsored casino nights and Internet gambling on university property.
