Many of the decisions that college women make are rooted in their self-esteem. Whether it is how much they drink, what they eat, the decisions they make about sex or how they get along with other women. The ROSE (Raising Our Self Esteem) campaign targets women by helping them understand the underlining causes of their low self-esteem, the ways to improve their self esteem and the importance of helping other women raise their self-esteem. ROSE strives to help women learn how to empower themselves and others. The program is interactive and discussion-based and examines different aspects of self-esteem. This includes, how it is formed, influenced, and behaviors that may affect self-esteem.
Other services that ROSE sponsors include outreach programs to young girls in the Columbia community as well as the ROSE garden that donates dresses to high school girls in the community to wear to their prom.
